IT Field Technician
Job Description/Requirements:
- Troubleshooting and resolving problems with PC hardware and applications
- PC hardware experience (component installations, RAM upgrades)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft products including Office, Outlook, and various versions of Windows
- Unix/Linux experience would be a plus but is not necessary
- E-mail setup and maintenance
- Server maintenance
- IIS and website maintenance experience would be nice but is not necessary
- Knowledge of general network topology and the ability to apply that knowledge in everyday situations to resolve problems
- Network cabling skills useful but not necessary
- PC desktop support
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Virus protection software installation and maintenance
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a simplified manner
- Ability to research solutions and present options to clients
- Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities
- Ability to ‘think on their feet’ in reacting to unexpected problems, and in coming up with creative solutions
- Ability to work well with a small IT team
- Maintain detailed records for time and billing of clients
